I
will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall ever be in my
mouth.
I
will glory in the Lord; let the humble hear and
rejoice.
Proclaim
with me the greatness of the Lord; let us exalt his name
together.
I
sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me out of all my
terror.
Look
upon him and be radiant, and let not your faces be
ashamed.
I
called in my affliction and the Lord heard me and saved me from all my
troubles.
The
angel of the Lord encompasses those who fear him, and he will deliver
them.
Taste
and see that the Lord is good; happy are they who trust in
him!
Fear
the Lord, you that are his saints, for those who fear him lack
nothing.
The
young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack
nothing that is good.
The
Lord ransoms the life of his servants, and none will be punished who
trust in him.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without
end. Amen
Congratulations to Emma Balodis, one of our organ scholars,

Special thanks to all who helped with our Halloween gathering
last weekend. To those who prepared food, drove youth to
the
haunted house, helped to create a spooky sunroom or cleaned
up,
it
was much appreciated. There were about 18 children/youth and 15
adults on hand to enjoy your efforts!
Thank you to all who helped with our Praying our
Goodbyes service on All Souls Day. Special thanks to Kimberly
Matheson and The Hupman
Brothers for providing music, and to Kathy Phillips, Diana Patterson, Shirley
Marston and any others who
brought refreshments. Sixty people came out to share in
this service of
remembrance, prayer, and candle-lighting, which included a spirited reading and

St. John's Celebrates New Year's on Sunday, November
27th!
Sunday, November 27th is the first Sunday of Advent, which
marks the first day of the new church
year. We're going to celebrate the new year by doing something different
and special: we hope all members of St. John's will come together for a
New Year's Levée - a chance to worship together as one congregation and
to spend some time getting to know one another better.
We'll gather at 9am for Morning Prayer;* then spend the morning
discovering our various skills, talents, passions, and interests, and
talking about the covenant we made two years ago and about how we can
support and care for one another as
members of the St. John's Parish family. At 12:30, we'll close
out the levée by sharing a potluck lunch.
Please mark your calendars now - Sunday, November 27th, from
9am on, with lunch starting at 12:30. More details will
follow in
the bulletins over the next two weeks, and there will be sign-up
sheets at the back of the church next week, so that we can get a
better idea of how many people are coming and what the potluck
contributions will be.
*There will be no services at 8am or 10am on
Nov. 27th.
