Announcements
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Quiche Luncheon in any way, shape or form! It is a very important fundraiser for the Parish. Special thanks to Shirley Marston and Elizabeth Browne for organizing it!

Sunday Morning Breakfast: Will be offered here at the church between the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday, June 1st. Please plan to come to this special time of food and fellowship in the Sunroom!

Special Thanks to our Elected Synod Delegates: Paul Hobson, Kathy Phillips, and Emily Turner (Youth Delegate). The clergy of the Parish (The Rev'd. Ann Watson, the Rev'd. Bruce Matthews and our rector are automatically members of Synod). A report of the delegates will be made in June.

We give thanks for the life of J.F.M.(Morrie) Douglas, whose life was celebrated this past week in the church in a private memorial with his family and Rev'd. Cathy Lee. Morrie was a resident at Ridgelands with Cathy Stewart, and once attended St. John's with his wife, Pat who passed away several years ago.

Notice of Special General Meeting of the Parish, Called by the Rector and Wardens
This is notice that a special general meeting of the Parish will be held at the church on Sunday, June 8th at 11:30 am after the 10:00 am service.The purpose of the meeting is to consider the recommendation of the Parish Council to sell the piece of land at the far north east end of the graveyard from just below the edge of the bank down to Elm Avenue. Copies of the agreement to sell, a schedule of restrictive covenants, a site plan of the property in question, and the specific motion to be adopted will be available in church on Sunday June 1st and at the meeting.

Parish Picnic and Sunday School Closing: Mark your calendars for June 29th for this special parish family event as we celebrate our Sunday School. Details to follow next week.

Donations to help the people of China and Burma: If you are looking for a way to contribute to the humanitarian efforts underway through the networks of the church, please see the postings on the bulletin board for details.

St. Anne's Teen Camp: Plans are well underway for the third annual St. Anne's Teen Camp, to be held from August 18 - 22 this summer. Brochures will soon be in churches, and we'll be gearing up for another fun and challenging summer camp. We do need some help with a few things, however. We need a chief cook, and we need a couple assistant cooks. We also need a lifeguard (paid position). If anyone would like to help out in these ways, and be guaranteed a fun and exciting week in August, please contact Michelle Bull at 538-9371 or michelle.bull@ns.sympatico.ca.

Choir meets every Thursday at 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the sunroom. For further information, please speak with Don Corbett, 542-2640.

Enjoy the Love and Warmth is closed until the fall.  For more info call Elizabeth - 542-5944.  We were able to give 3 quilts and an afghan to the families burnt out of their home last week in Wolfville

What is 2010?  300 Years of continuous Anglican Worship in the Diocese. The exact date was October 10th, 1710, at Port Royal in Annapolis Royal. We also celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the opening of the Cathedral Church of All Saints, on September 10th., 1910. Our theme is "A journey Just Begun" from the Common Praise song ' She Flies on'. The Diocesan Service of Celebration will be held at Exhibition Park, on Sunday, June 6th, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday morning church services will be held at the Wolfville Elms (10:15am) and Wolfville Nursing Home (11am) on June 3.  Anyone wishing to come and worship is welcome.
 
Community news
WAICC/ Wolfville Area Food Bank
As always, donations of food items such as soup, powdered milk, juice, cans of tuna, salmon, ham, turkey, tomatoes and other vegetables and fruits, pasta and pasta sauces, oatmeal, peanut butter, personal hygiene products and household cleaning items are most welcome.  The food bank is looking for re-usable bags to pack the groceries for customers.  If you have any bags you are no longer using, please place them in the white basket at the back of the church.

Kids for Christ (grades P-6) will be presenting the musical "Pirates of the I Don't Care-ibbean" by Jeff Smith at the Kentville United Baptist Church, June 14th, 7:00 p.m. Free will offering will be taken.
